Mark Clark: Recent Travels in India

Mark Clark: Recent Travels in India

An exhibition of paintings, drawings and prints

22 May 2012 to 02 Jun 2012

22 May-2 June, Monday-Saturday 10:00-18:00

20 years after first being struck by its colour and vibrancy, Mark Clark exhibits his work reflecting his extensive experiences in India, and the magical quality of its culture and people that he has never found anywhere else in the world. The human form is a central inspiration for Mark, and it is the Indian people who repeatedly draw him back. This is reflected in his portraits of Indian men and women, revealing the beauty and grace of the women, and the innate majesty of the men.

Clark captures the exciting juxtaposition of the people in the landscape, the incredible heritage reflected in the architecture and scenery, in the bustle of the cities, the dry heat of the desert or the lush greenery of the Kerelan backwaters.
