FCO Minister for Asia shares insights following visit to the region

Mark Field, Minister for Asia and the Pacific at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, briefed Asia House corporate members on developments in the Korean peninsula, as well as opportunities for UK businesses to boost their engagement across Asia post-Brexit, including within the One Belt, One Road Initiative.

Mark took up the role in June 2017 after a reshuffle of FCO ministers following the UK general election. Throughout the 2015 to 2017 Parliament he served as the Vice Chairman (International Affairs) of the Conservative Party, a role which included extensive diplomatic contact and work alongside senior figures in sister parties across the world. He has led parliamentary delegations to China, Japan, India, Bangladesh and the United States and has also visited many Middle Eastern states and European countries.
