Asia House launches Middle East Programme

    Published On: 7 February 2018

The UK’s Middle East Minister, Alistair Burt, will hold a private briefing at Asia House on Thursday 1 March to mark the launch of the Asia House Middle East Programme.

The Minister will brief Asia House corporate members on the latest developments in the region in the first of a series of events which will look at the Middle East, its role within Asia and its connections with the developed economies in the West.

The aim of the Asia House Middle East Programme will be to drive European and Asian engagement with the region.

The new strand of programming will focus on trade and investment between the Middle East and the UK/Europe and trade and investment flows between the Middle East and the rest of Asia. It will include regular private briefings with senior decision makers along with public conferences for a wider audience.

The first such conference, ‘The New Global Trade Order‘, will be held in Dubai on 22 April. Produced by Asia House in partnership with DMCC, the conference aims to help policymakers and business leaders better understand – and capitalise on – the new global trade order.

A particular focus of the Asia House Middle East Programme will be The Belt and Road Initiative, the flows it will underpin between the Middle East and Asia, and the opportunities this will create – from logistics and trade finance, Islamic finance, professional services, renewable energy, air travel and tourism.  The Programme will highlight these opportunities and provide insight and connections through meaningful dialogue.

Asia House is uniquely placed to produce an ongoing Middle East Programme. It is independent and objective, with a global network of corporate clients and supporters and strong relationships with governments.

The Asia House forum is completely neutral and designed to encourage open and constructive dialogue.  It is a trusted institution with a track record of delivering high-quality, focused briefings which underpin positive business and commercial relationships.
