Driving commercial and political engagement between Asia, the Middle East and Europe
As part of the Asia House COP28 Programme, Arifin Tasrif, Indonesia’s Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, will speak digitally with Asia House’s Corporate Members in a private, off-the-record briefing on Tuesday 28 March.
As the country with the highest energy consumption in ASEAN and a large and growing population, steering Indonesia’s energy transition represents a significant challenge. During this exclusive briefing, Arifin Tasrif – the man tasked with steering this transition – will update Asia House’s corporate network on this process and efforts to increase Indonesia’s renewable energy mix through international cooperation such as the JETP. Alongside providing insights on the energy transition and its importance to achieving net-zero by or before 2060, Minister Tasrif will also update members on ambitious efforts to downstream Indonesia’s mineral mining sector and develop an electric vehicle manufacturing base.
In this off-the-record discussion, members will hear from Minister Tasrif about the role of the private sector in supporting and accelerating Indonesia’s energy transition, and the exciting opportunities emerging from the downstreaming of Indonesia’s commodities sector.
This briefing is held digitally for Asia House Corporate Members as part of the COP28 Programme and will be moderated by Asia House Chief Executive Michael Lawrence. To register interest, please email Edward Danks, Programme Associate: edward.danks@asiahouse.co.uk
