Kerry Brown, Professor of Chinese Studies and Director of the Lau China Institute, King’s College London

The latest political and economic developments in China, and their implications for UK-China relations, will be the focus of an Asia House briefing with Kerry Brown, Professor of Chinese Studies and Director of the Lau China Institute at King’s College, London, on Thursday 19 January.

With recent protests and soaring COVID cases in China making international headlines, Professor Brown will reflect on the domestic situation in China, as well as the policy directions that emerged from October’s National Party Congress. The state of UK-China relations under Prime Minister Rishi Sunak will also be discussed in the off-the-record briefing, convened exclusively for Asia House Corporate Members.

Chaired by Asia House Chief Executive Michael Lawrence, the in-person briefing will see Professor Brown – a noted thought leader on China – share his unique insights with the Asia House network.
