The New Global Trade Order: Arancha González, Executive Director of the International Trade Centre

Arancha González, Executive Director of the International Trade Centre (ITC), will join Asia House corporate members on Wednesday 14 November for a private, off-the-record briefing as part of the Asia House New Global Trade Order Series.

The ITC is the joint agency of the United Nations and the World Trade Organization (WTO) aimed at supporting the international development of businesses, especially small and medium enterprises. The private sector is facing multiple important challenges, from the rising tide of globalisation to increasing protectionism around the world. The ITC works with businesses to overcome these challenges.

Arancha has been in her post since September 2013. She has extensive knowledge of international trade and economics, as well as broad experience in trade and development matters in the public and private sectors, and in management at multilateral organisations. From 2005 to 2013, she served as Chief of Staff to WTO Director-General Pascal Lamy, playing an important role in launching the WTO’s Aid for Trade initiative. Prior to that, she served in the European Commission’s trade directorate.

Arancha will brief corporate members on her perspectives about the changes in global trade and how businesses can meet these challenges.

This briefing is for Asia House corporate members only. To register, please contact Jana Psarska in the Business & Policy Team at: jana.psarska@asiahouse.co.uk
