Lord Stephen Green, Chairman of Asia House, will be in conversation with His Excellency Liu Xiaoming, China’s Ambassador to the UK, at an exclusive event held at Asia House on 24 June.
The Ambassador and Lord Green will discuss a range of issues, including China’s foreign policy, it’s international role and drive to be a world leader in technology, and the Belt and Road Initiative, in front of an audience of business and policy leaders at Asia House. The event will include a Q+A session with the audience.
China’s rise will be one of the defining features of the 21st century. Its growth has underpinned the global economy and drives world markets. Ambitious foreign policy aims such as the Belt and Road Initiative promise to transform global trade, while a rapidly transitioning economy is seeing China emerge as a world leader in technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and automation.
Asia House is delighted to welcome His Excellency the Ambassador to discuss these issues with Lord Green, the former Chairman of HSBC and UK Trade Minister, 2011-2013. The conversation will also consider trade tensions between the US and China, China’s economic and policy trajectories, its relationship with the UK and Europe, and much more.
