New Vietnam Ambassador to the UK appointed

His Excellency Tran Ngoc An has been appointed as Vietnam’s Ambassador to the UK.  Mr Tran takes over from His Excellency Nguyen Van Thao, who returned to Vietnam at the end of October after a three-year posting in London.

Mr Tran was most recently Ambassador-Director General of the Department of Multilateral Economic Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of Vietnam, as well as the Vietnamese Senior Official of the Asia-Europe Meeting. Prior to that, he was Ambassador-Director General for EU Affairs at MOFA. Mr Tran was also previously Ambassador to the Republic of Finland and Republic of Estonia from 2006 to 2010.

Vietnam and ASEAN as a whole continues to be a strong focus of the Asia House Business & Policy programme.
