    Dr V Anantha Nageswaran, Chief Economic Adviser to the Government of India, briefs Asia House on India’s post-election economic outlook

    Dr V Anantha Nageswaran, Chief Economic Adviser to the Government of India, provided Asia House Corporate Members with the latest updates on India’s economic reforms and prospect of policy continuity following India’s recent election at an off-the-record digital briefing on Tuesday 11 June.

    Speaking from New Delhi, Dr Nageswaran discussed the potential for implementing bottom-up reforms over the next five years and assessed the likelihood of achieving these reforms within the framework of a coalition government. India’s medium-term growth outlook, its role in businesses’ China+1 strategies and fiscal prudence were also discussed at the briefing.

    Asia House Corporate Members asked Dr Nageswaran’s views on a wide range of topics, including the further integration of India’s energy sector, the trade relationship between India and China, and the prospects for policy continuity in infrastructure investment.
