    HE Dr. Majid AlKassabi, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Commerce spoke to Asia House Corporate Members on Vision 2030, recent economic and social reform in the Kingdom, and their impacts on businesses in a wide-ranging briefing on Monday 5 June.

    During the private and off-the-record briefing, the Minister shed light on recent steps to make the Kingdom more competitive within the global economy, developments to encourage growth in logistics and trade, and the strengthening of UK-Saudi bilateral ties over recent years.  

    The Minister spoke on the importance of supportive legislation to encourage greater ease of doing business and commerce within the Kingdom and discussed specific developments relating to Public-Private Partnerships, Special Economic Zones (SEZs), and trade with Asia.  

    Chaired by Asia House Chief Executive Michael Lawrence OBE and held at the think tank’s London headquarters, the briefing gave Asia House Corporate Members a unique insight into recent economic reforms in the Kingdom, a roadmap for future changes, and their implications for global businesses looking to invest and operate in the Kingdom.
