Iran at a Crossroads

Lionel Barber, Editor of the Financial Times, gave a private breakfast briefing to Asia House Corporate Members on 20 February 2014.

Lionel Barber was joined by the Rt Hon the Lord Lamont of Lerwick, Chairman, the British Iranian Chamber of Commerce; and Dr Farad Azima, Chief Executive, NetScientific.

Issues discussed in the briefing included:

-The political and economic impact of recent events in Iran.
-Impressions of Iran since Rouhani’s election, and of the president himself.
-The competitiveness of Britain in courting Iranian business.
-How the rapprochement with Iran may affect the geopolitics in the Middle East.
