UAE Ambassador to the UK outlines moves to attract foreign investment

    Published On: 10 June 2021

The UAE’s prospects for economic recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic and measures to make the UAE a more attractive investment destination, were the focus when UAE Ambassador to the UK, HE Mansoor Abulhoul, briefed Corporate Members today (10 June).

In a wide-ranging discussion, the Ambassador discussed the UAE’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, new regulations to drive investment and talent into the UAE, including increased opportunities for foreign ownership of businesses outside of Free Zones, and the potential for growth in the UK-UAE economic relationship.

Asia House Corporate Members joined the discussion from around the world, putting a range of questions to the Ambassador. He was asked about how new business regulations would impact Emiratis, the UAE’s environmental sustainability plans, prospects for a UK-GCC free trade deal, and ease of doing business in the UAE.

The off-the-record briefing, chaired by Asia House Chief Executive Michael Lawrence, offered Corporate Members unique insights into the future of the UAE’s economy and trading relations with key UAE partners, including the UK.
