    Published On: 21 June 2018

Asia House corporate members received an insightful briefing from Thailand’s Minister of Industry and the Secretary General Eastern Economic Corridor Office on Thursday.

His Excellency Dr Uttama Savanayana, Minister of Industry for the Government of Thailand, and Dr Kanit Sangsubhan, Secretary General Eastern Economic Corridor Office, briefed corporate members on the opportunities emerging in Thailand under the country’s new economic development model, Thailand 4.0.

HE Dr Uttama and Dr Kanit are in the UK as part of a delegation meeting with senior-level political and business figures in an effort to promote Thailand 4.0, and the flagship project under this, the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).

Both speakers highlighted Thailand’s keen interest in attracting foreign investment in order to promote innovation, infrastructure and services development, and outlined the measures they will take in order to achieve this.

The briefing provided an opportunity for attendees to ask questions surrounding the priorities of the project, current impediments to investment, as well as the political situation in Thailand.
