    The Asia House Annual Outlook 2024 Launch

    The Rt Hon Anne-Marie Trevelyan MP, UK Minister of State (Indo-Pacific), and His Excellency Zheng Zeguang, China’s Ambassador to the UK, will deliver keynote speeches in-person at the launch of the Asia House Annual Outlook 2024 on Tuesday 23 January. The launch will also hear from senior executives and key industry leaders across a wide range of sectors.

    The Asia House Annual Outlook examines the prospects for Asia’s eight key economies over the next 12 months in what promises to be a turbulent year. The report will highlight how Asia’s economies will continue to grow despite multiple risks including several key elections, heightened geopolitical tensions and an uncertain and unpredictable global economic outlook. Growth in Asia will be underpinned by accelerated digital transformation and marked by a rapid increase in regional trade.

    Asia House Chairman, Lord Stephen Green, will deliver opening remarks at the launch, with the event moderated by Asia House Chief Executive Michael Lawrence OBE.

    The Rt Hon Anne-Marie Trevelyan MP, UK Minister of State (Indo-Pacific)

    The Rt Hon Anne-Marie Trevelyan is the UK Minister of State (Indo-Pacific) at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. The Conservative MP for Berwick-upon-Tweed, since 2015. She was previously the UK International Champion on Adaptation and Resilience for the COP26 Presidency between 2020 to 2022.


    HE Zheng Zeguang, China’s Ambassador to the UK

    HE Zheng Zeguang has been China’s Ambassador to the UK since 2021. Ambassador Zheng first joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China in 1986 and went on to hold a number of Government roles including Deputy Chief of Mission and Minister for the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the United States of America.

    Dominic Barton BBM, Chair, Rio Tinto

    Dominic Barton serves as Chair of Rio Tinto. Dominic spent over 30 years at McKinsey & Company, including nine years as the Global Managing Partner. He has served as Canada’s Ambassador to China, Chair of Canada’s Advisory Council for Economic Growth, and Chair of the International Advisory Committee to the President of South Korea on National Future and Vision.


    Farisa Zarin, Global Head of Group Public and Regulatory Affairs, Standard Chartered Bank

    Farisa Zarin is the global head of Group Public and Regulatory Affairs at Standard Chartered Bank. In that capacity, she is responsible for the strategic engagement and positioning on public policy and regulatory policy issues for the Bank. She previously spent 20 years at Moody’s, serving as the Chief Government and Public Affairs Officer.


    Ziad Haider, Global Director of Geopolitical Risk, McKinsey & Company

    Ziad Haider is the Global Director of Geopolitical Risk at McKinsey & Company leading their internal efforts on managing geopolitical risk. Alongside his work at McKinsey, Ziad serves on the board of Advisors of the International Rescue Committee and as a Senior Advisor with the Centre for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS).


    Jinny Yan, Chief China Economist, ICBC Standard Bank

    Jinny Yan is the Chief China Economist at ICBC Standard Bank and leads the China markets strategy and research team. Her focus is to deliver China macroeconomic and market insights. Jinny’s in-depth coverage of China macroeconomic topics extends to RMB internationalisation, sustainable and transition finance, ESG and Net Zero transition.


    Pamela Mar, Managing Director of Digital Standards Initiative, International Chamber of Commerce

    Pamela Mar is the Managing Director of DSI, ICC, based in Singapore. Prior to joining the DSI, Pamela was Executive Vice President for Supply Chain Futures, and then EVP for Knowledge and Applications for the Fung Group.
