UK Trade Secretary Dr Liam Fox flew out to Asia on Monday on a mission to strengthen UK trade with ASEAN nations in the wake of Brexit.
Fox travelled to the Philippines yesterday for talks with President Duterte on a whilstle-stop tour that includes Malaysia, where he will speak to 600 business leaders, and Indonesia where UK exports grew 13 per cent last year, reports the London Evening Standard.
The trip comes soon after a visit to Singapore in February where the Department for International Trade launched a British export campaign in an effort to boost trade ties.
ASEAN nations will require new trading agreements with the UK after Brexit and Fox is working to ensure a smooth transition on leaving the EU.
