Speeches from Carrie Lam, Chief Executive of Hong Kong SAR; Ceferino S Rodolfo, Undersecretary for Industry Development and Trade Policy, Philippines; and Bambang Brodjonegoro, Minister for National Development Planning, Indonesia, provided insights to delegates on how nations in the region are adapting to the emerging global order.

Meanwhile, panel discussions featuring current and former ministers and leading professionals from business debated the shape of the new global trade order, the trade and investment opportunities in ASEAN, and connectivity in Asia.

The conference was aimed at bringing the trade debate to an Asian platform, and marked the first time Asia House has held an event of its scale outside of London.

In her keynote speech, Carrie Lam said: “I am sure Asia House, with its expertise on Asia, and as the leading pan-Asian organisation in the United Kingdom, will continue to provide a forum for decision-makers, business-leaders, and opinion-formers to engage in high level discussions that direct business and political strategies.

“My thanks to Asia House for bringing this prestigious event to Hong Kong.”
