    Published On: 22 February 2018

One of the UK’s most senior trade negotiators, Crawford Falconer, briefed Asia House corporate members this morning as part of the Asia House New Global Trade Order series.

Falconer is Chief Trade Negotiation Adviser and Second Permanent Secretary for the Department for International Trade, and heads the trade negotiation profession within the British Civil Service.

In an expansive briefing, Falconer discussed a range of trade issues facing the UK, including Brexit and the prospects of joining the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). Wider global trade issues were also discussed, including the relationship between the US and China.

Asia House corporate members had the chance to gain insights from the leading negotiator, with questions on India, financial services, Brexit and US trade relationships being asked from around the table.

Chaired by Asia House Chief Executive Michael Lawrence, the exclusive briefing provided unique analysis to Asia House corporate members from a leading professional in global trade.
