Asia House welcomed Hong Kong Justice Secretary, Teresa Cheng, to give a briefing on the city’s potential to become the ‘legal and deal-making hub’ for the Belt and Road Initiative.
Cheng covered a range of issues in the off-the-record briefing, held exclusively for Asia House corporate members. Hong Kong’s strength in legal services, potentially as a centre for dispute resolution on BRI projects, was discussed, as was the city’s role as a bridge between Mainland China and the world. Hong Kong’s professional services offering was also covered in the briefing, which was chaired by Michael Lawrence, Chief Executive of Asia House.
