Private briefing with Hong Kong Secretary for Justice Rimsky Yuen Kwok-keung

Rimsky Yuen Kwok-keung, Secretary for Justice of Hong Kong, will join Asia House corporate members for a private briefing to discuss legal services and economic developments in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong is one of the world’s leading arbitration centres with handled arbitration claims valuing over $US 6.2 billion in 2015. Roughly half of the cases that are handled by the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre are in some degree related to China. The growing economic and political importance of China and the increasing number of complex and significant cases present many opportunities and challenges to Hong Kong as an arbitration centre.

Mr Yuen was appointed Secretary for Justice on July 1, 2012.  He was a barrister in private practice before joining the Government, specialising in commercial disputes. He also served as an arbitrator in international arbitrations and a mediator in commercial disputes. He was appointed Senior Counsel in 2003 and a Recorder of the Court of First Instance of the High Court in 2006.

This briefing is for corporate members only. To register for this private briefing please contact David Shui-Jezierski, Business & Policy Team at david.shui-jezierski@asiahouse.co.uk or call 0207 307 5458.
