Driving commercial and political engagement between Asia, the Middle East and Europe
Driving commercial and political engagement between Asia, the Middle East and Europe
In today’s rapidly changing and globalised world, companies and policymakers find that investing in human capital is becoming increasingly important. Advancing connectivity and the growing ease of knowledge-sharing mean that corporations now have both the needs and the ability to search for talent on a global scale. Higher education institutions are one of the key areas where such talent is concentrated, and this knowledge is vital for the health of the economy.
However, the growing wave of nationalism and populism poses a threat to the global knowledge economy. Leaving the European Union might challenge the UK’s international competitiveness as well as the ability for corporates to attract foreign talents. Strong competition from Asia might add more pressure on the UK’s university landscape. What are the ramifications of increased nationalism on the UK’s and the global economy?
Join our panel discussion with experts from academia as well as the private and the public sector.
