Singapore Reception: Asia House Global Trade Dialogue
Asia House is hosting an evening reception in Singapore on 6 November ahead of its major Global Trade Dialogue.
The reception will take place at the Mandarin Oriental Singapore on Wednesday 6 November, the evening before the Asia House Global Trade Dialogue on 7 November.
Offering a chance to network ahead of the conference, the reception will bring speakers and delegates together alongside senior business and policy professionals.
Speeches will begin at 6.30pm.

Lord Stephen Green
Chairman of Asia House, former Chairman of HSBC and UK Trade Minister (2011-2013)
Lord Green was appointed as Chairman of Asia House in January 2017, bringing with him extensive international business and governmental experience. He was Minister of State for Trade and Investment from 2011 to 2013, responsible for all matters relating to trade and investment in both the former Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Prior to entering government, Lord Green was Group Chairman of HSBC from 2006 until 2010.
Albert Ellis
CEO, Harvey Nash Group
Albert is CEO of the Harvey Nash Group a $1bn global technology recruitment and IT Solutions Group with offices across the USA, Europe and Asia. In Asia, the Group’s market-leading NashTech brand delivers IT solutions and outsourcing from its base in Vietnam, into markets such as Australia, Japan, Singapore and Korea. Albert is passionate about expanding the pool of digital leadership and technology talent which is enabling the transformation of businesses and has been involved with NashTech since inception almost 20 years ago. Albert is a Trustee of Asia House, a founding member of the Rustat Conference think tank at Cambridge University and works with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology annually to produce the world’s largest survey of technology leadership.
Chng Kai Fong
Managing Director, Economic Development Board
Mr Chng was appointed Managing Director of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) on 1 October 2017. He was the Principal Private Secretary (PPS) to the Prime Minister (PM) from 1 September 2014 to 30 September 2017.
Before his appointment as PPS to the PM, Mr Chng served various roles in the Public Service. He was Director of Communications Group at the Prime Minister’s Office, where he oversaw strategic communications and coordinated communications strategy across Government agencies. He was also Director of Resource Industry at the Ministry of Trade and Industry, where he coordinated the Government’s efforts to drive productivity growth, and Director of the Institute of Public Sector Leadership, which runs leadership development programmes for public sector leaders. Mr Chng also served in the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Ministry of Communications and Information. Mr Chng was also seconded from 2008 to 2010 as a Senior Management Consultant to Shell in its Downstream Strategy Division.
