Turkey and the Belt and Road: Investment, tech and renewables
Turkey is positioning itself as a strategic hub for businesses looking to connect with the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), as well as markets across the Middle East and Europe. With a growing economy and favourable business environment, the country is emerging as an attractive platform for companies seeking to expand in the region.
Arda Ermut, President of Turkey’s Investment Office, will provide insights on how Turkey is aligning with the BRI, and the wider opportunities for foreign investment, during a roundtable discussion at Asia House, held as part of the Asia House Middle East Programme.
Ermut – who also serves as a Board Member on the Turkey Sovereign Wealth Fund, Turkish Airlines, the Vienna Economic Forum and has assumed Presidency at The World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies – will cover three key topics during his briefing:
- Turkey’s position and growing involvement in the Belt and Road Initiative
- Turkey’s renewable energy targets and the surrounding investment opportunities
- New government-backed VC schemes for the Turkish tech ecosystem and how foreign investors can benefit
