    Published On: 10 May 2021

Scott Beaumont, President, Google Asia Pacific, has joined the Advisory Board of Asia House, the leading London-based think tank.

Beaumont, based in Singapore, joins other global figures from government, business and technology who support Asia House’s mission of driving commercial, political and economic engagement between Asia, the Middle East and Europe.

The Advisory Board already boasts names including AI pioneer Dr Kai-Fu Lee; Hitachi Executive Chairman Hiroaki Nakanishi; Stuart Gulliver, former Group CEO, HSBC; Miriam Sapiro, former US Deputy Trade Representative; and Dr Norbert Röttgen, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the German Bundestag.  View all members of the Advisory Board.

The Advisory Board plays a key role in supporting Asia House’s research and advisory service, as well as contributing to the wider Asia House programme of events.

Commenting on Beaumont’s appointment, Asia House Chairman Lord Green said: “The digital revolution is already driving profound change in Asia, transforming societies and creating new opportunities for business and innovation. As President of Google Asia Pacific, Scott is central to these developments, and brings a wealth of knowledge and insights on Asia’s tech trends to the Advisory Board.

“Scott’s addition to the Board will add considerable value to Asia House and our members, clients and wider network.”

Beaumont has worked at Google for 11 years, previously serving as Google President for Greater China and Korea. Before joining Google, Beaumont ran his own tech start up, Refresh Mobile, having previously worked for T-Mobile as Executive Vice President for Business Development.

Beaumont said: “Asia is where most internet users live, it’s home to the world’s fastest-growing digital economies, and its thinkers and leaders are increasingly setting the pace for innovation globally.

“These developments matter to every trading economy and company, so Asia House’s work on technology issues will only become more important over the next few years. I’m pleased to have the opportunity to add my perspective, learn from others on the board and staff, and work together to contribute to the region’s future.”
