The global trade architecture is in the midst of dramatic change. The anti-free trade rhetoric from the US; the UK’s decision to leave the EU; and growing economic nationalism have triggered a major shake up to the global trade and economic landscape. In contrast, ASEAN’s push towards economic integration and China’s growing role as a champion of globalisation and free trade have shifted the trade dynamic towards the East.
