    Chinese President Xi Jinping is scheduled to visit the United Kingdom for a State Visit in October 2015. The 7th World Chinese Economic Summit from 10 to 11 November 2015 will enable UK and European businesses to assess the impact of the President’s visit and how it can further strengthen bilateral relationships and promote new business opportunities for companies in the UK and Europe.

    The theme for the 7th World Chinese Economic Summit (WCES), being held for the first time in London, is ‘China and the World: Forging Euro-Asian Partnerships towards Shared Prosperity’.

    WCES 2015, being co-organised by Asia House and Malysian think tank The Asia Strategy & Leadership Institute (ASLI), will bring together more than 200 participants – policy-makers, captains of industry, entrepreneurs, researchers and thought-leaders – from around the world.

    The WCES will look at the role China plays in world economic development and the opportunities that the Belt and Road initiative represents, as well as providing networking discussions on China’s economic rise and its impact on the rest of the world.

    The WCES will also focus on the growing markets of Southeast Asia with the coming into effect of the ASEAN Economic Community by December 2015. The Summit will look at how China, ASEAN and the UK can forge business partnership for shared prosperity and business growth.

    The World Chinese Economic Summit is a leading international summit that focuses on strengthening business, economic, and social ties between China, Southeast Asia and Europe.
