Airlangga Hartarto, Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs
Airlangga Hartarto, Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, will brief Asia House Corporate Members on Indonesia’s future economic growth trajectory and policy direction, at an off-the-record in-person briefing on Monday, 29 April at Asia House in London.
Coordinating Minister Hartarto’s briefing comes at a pivotal moment as Indonesia prepares for the transition to a new administration under President-elect Prabowo Subianto Djojohadikusumo. This marks the conclusion of current President Joko Widodo’s two terms in office.
Coordinating Minister Hartarto will update members on Indonesia’s economic growth prospects amid the backdrop of geopolitical shifts and an uncertain global environment. The Coordinating Minister will also discuss Indonesia’s progress towards OECD accession and other economic partnerships. In light of Indonesia’s 2024 election result, the government’s policy continuity in the downstreaming of critical minerals and construction of the new capital city Nusantara will also be discussed during this briefing.
Airlangga Hartarto has served as Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs since October 2019, overseeing the coordination of economic policies across cabinet ministries. He also chairs the Golkar Party, Indonesia’s second-largest party in the House of Representatives, which supported Prabowo in the 2024 Indonesian Presidential Elections.
The in-person briefing will be held exclusively for Asia House Corporate Members and moderated by Asia House Director of Corporate Affairs, Charlie Humphreys. To register interest, please email Thomas Scott-Bell, Programme Producer: thomas.scott-bell@asiahouse.co.uk
