Alfredo E. Pascual, Secretary of the Department of Trade and Industry of the Philippines, will brief Asia House Corporate Members on the Philippines’ new trade policy framework and the country’s ambitions to become a global hub of sustainability and manufacturing powerhouse.

Secretary Pascual will provide updates on the Philippines’ economic outlook and the strengthening of its trade relations with foreign partners. During this discussion, the Secretary will also touch upon the Department of Trade and Industry’s strategies to develop a robust and innovative export ecosystem, and how the Southeast Asian archipelago is ramping up its efforts to take a greater share of the global value chain.

Drawing on his extensive experience in international development, business and academia, Secretary Pascual will also speak about Philippines’ high-tech manufacturing competitiveness, promising digital innovation, and young, future-ready workforce. Attractive policy reforms and wide range of investment opportunities in sectors such as renewable energy, high-tech manufacturing, and IT-BPM (Business Process Management) will also be covered.
