Alicia Kearns MP, Chair of the UK’s Foreign Affairs Select Committee

Alicia Kearns, Chair of the UK’s Foreign Affairs Select Committee, will join Asia House Chief Executive Michael Lawrence OBE to deliver an in-person briefing on UK-China relations and the UK government’s broader foreign policy agenda on Tuesday, 6 June.

This briefing will focus on the UK’s strategies for managing relations with major world powers such as China and Russia and consider the government’s broader approach to tackling global security threats and forging stronger bonds with strategic partners.

As tensions continue to rise between the West and China, Kearns will also address the UK’s position on trade and diplomatic relations with the Asian superpower, as well as the future of UK-China relations in the context of the 2023 Integrated Review Refresh. Moreover, Kearns will also offer her first-hand insights into the UK’s response to the Ukraine-Russia conflict and her outlook for the region. The briefing promises to be an insightful and thought-provoking discussion on some of the key challenges facing UK foreign policy in the years ahead.

This briefing is being convened for Asia House Corporate Members and moderated by Asia House Chief Executive Michael Lawrence. To register interest, please email Lin Cong, Programme Producer: lin.cong@asiahouse.co.uk
