Asia House Brexit Series: DIT direction post-election
Brexit negotiations have started on 19 June, but the Conservatives losing their majority in the general elections has raised yet more uncertainty regarding the timeline and the blueprint.
Joining us in his reappointed position as Minister of State for Trade and Investment, Greg Hands will brief Asia House corporate members on how the Department for International Trade is responding to these political challenges and whether policy direction within the department will continue as it did before the snap election.
Greg Hands was appointed Minister of State for Trade and Investment in July 2016, when the Department was first formed. He leads on high value export and investment campaigns in technology and smart cities, infrastructure, energy, healthcare and life sciences. His responsibilities also include cross-Whitehall alignment, UK Export Finance, policy direction on topics such as mergers and acquisitions and overseas direct investment.
This briefing is for Asia House corporate members only. To register to attend, please contact Conor Paterson in the Business & Policy Team at conor.paterson@asiahouse.co.uk or call 0207 307 5439.
This event is taking place as part of the Asia House Brexit Series, which examines the implications of Brexit. Greg Hands spoke as part of the Series in November last year, and this event will examine the progress that has been made since then. Read an interview he gave following his initial briefing here.
