Asia House Brexit Series: Nick Clegg

Nick Clegg, the former Deputy Prime Minister, will offer Asia House members a unique insight into the current Brexit negotiations later this month.

Mr Clegg, author of the new book ‘How to Stop Brexit (and Make Britain Great Again)’  will give a briefing at Asia House on Tuesday 31 October.

As one of the most prominent pro-European voices ahead of the 2016 referendum, Clegg has since argued that it’s still possible for the UK to remain in the EU.

Earlier this month, he told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme that MPs would be “duty bound” to reject a Brexit deal that doesn’t “conform to the expectations raised by the Brexiteers in the first place.”

He has also called for greater clarity on what Britain seeks to achieve from the exit negotiations, and ultimately on its role outside the EU.

Mr Clegg, who served as Deputy Prime Minister in Britain’s first postwar coalition government from 2010 to 2015, is the former Leader of the Liberal Democrats and was the Member of Parliament for Sheffield Hallam from 2005 – 2017.

This event is taking place as part of the Asia House Brexit Series, which encompasses a number of seminars and private briefings examining the implications of Brexit.

This briefing is for Asia House corporate members only. To register, please contact Evie Cramb at evie.cramb@asiahouse.co.uk .
