Asia House Corporate Members Digital Briefing with Suman Bery, Vice Chairman at NITI Aayog
Suman Bery, Vice Chairman at NITI Aayog, the premier policy think tank of the Government of India, will join Asia House for an exclusive Corporate Members digital briefing on Tuesday 14 January 2025.
Speaking from New Delhi, Vice Chairman Bery will share insights on India’s economic outlook for 2025. While India remains one of the world’s fastest-growing economies, it faces significant challenges, including weakened consumer demand, reduced public spending, and the implementation of state-level reforms.
Vice Chairman Bery will offer his perspectives on how to address these challenges and boost economic growth as the government seeks to achieve sustained 8 per cent growth over the medium term.
The discussion will also explore India’s relations with the United States and China. Given President-elect Donald Trump’s plans to impose further tariffs on China, Vice Chairman Bery will discuss how India can attract increased investment from companies looking to diversify their operations away from China.
A former Chief Economist at Shell, Vice Chairman Bery also serves as Chairman of the Economic Advisory Council, providing economic advice directly to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The briefing will be held exclusively for Asia House Corporate Members and moderated by Asia House Chief Executive Michael Lawrence OBE.
