Asia House Brexit Series: Dr Gerard Lyons

With the 29 March deadline for the UK’s exit from the EU fast approaching, there remains considerable uncertainty about the final form Brexit will take and the impact it will have on trade. The Asia House Brexit Series aims to bring clarity to the complexity by hosting briefings from key figures in global trade working across the Brexit spectrum.

As part of the Series, Dr Gerad Lyons, Chief Economic Strategist at Netwealth Investments and a prominent author on economics, will brief Asia House Corporate Members on the latest Brexit developments.

Dr Lyons previously served as the Chief Economic Advisor to Boris Johnson while he was Mayor of London and was the Co-Founder of the Economists for Brexit group. In 2017, he co-authored ‘Clean Brexit’, which has been described as “the ultimate guide to making a success of Britain’s divorce from the EU”.

Dr Lyons is an independent non-executive director at Bank of China (UK) and an advisor to Parker Fitzgerald, a financial consultancy specialising in regulation and FinTech. In 2018, he worked on a project on ‘AI, Technology and the Future of Work’ for the Centre for Social Justice think tank.

He currently sits on the advisory boards at the University of Warwick Business School and the Grantham Institute on Climate Change and the Environment at The London School of Economics and Imperial College.

Dr Lyons will share his perspectives on the latest Brexit developments and the UK’s role in the global economy.

This lunchtime briefing is held exclusively for Asia House Corporate Members. For more information, please contact aini.abdullah@asiahouse.co.uk
