Briefing with the ASEAN Secretary-General

The end of 2015 marks the deadline for the formation of the ASEAN Economic Community. To update Asia House corporate members on progress towards achieving this goal and associated issues, HE Le Luong Minh, ASEAN Secretary-General, will give a private off-the-record briefing followed by roundtable discussion.

Prior to assuming the post of ASEAN Secretary-General, HE Le Luong Minh was Vietnam’s Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs. Nominated by the Government of Vietnam, Minh was endorsed by the ASEAN Leaders as ASEAN Secretary-General for 2013-2017. From 2004 to 2011, Mr. Minh was concurrently Vietnam’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs from August 2007 to December 2008 and Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs from December 2008 to June 2011.
