Join us for an exclusive briefing for Asia House Corporate Members on South Korea with HE Mr Sungnam Lim, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea and Samir Brikho, CEO of AMEC. Discussion will encompass the current geopolitical, economic and investment climate in South Korea, as well as the EU–Korea FTA, the EU’s first comprehensive trade deal with an Asian country.

HE Mr Sungnam Lim is a career diplomat with a wide range of experiences spanning over three decades and most recently served as Seoul’s point man for the North Korean nuclear issue in the capacity of Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Prior to holding this position, Mr. Lim served at the Korean Embassy in Beijing as DCM and Political Minister. He also served in Taipei, Washington and at the Korean Mission to the United Nations during Korea’s term as a non-permanent member of the Security Council.

Samir Brikho was appointed Chief Executive of AMEC plc in October 2006, Samir Brikho has led the transformation of AMEC into a leading supplier of consultancy, engineering and project management services to its customers in the world’s oil and gas, mining, clean energy, environment and infrastructure markets. He was the recipient of the Medal of Honour for Industrial Service from South Korean President Myung-bak Lee – the first non-Korean to have been recognised in this way.
