Dang Hoang An, Vice Minister for Industry and Trade, Vietnam

As Vietnam works towards a new master plan for its energy transition, Asia House will welcome Dang Hoang An, Vice Minister for Industry and Trade, for a briefing with Corporate Members on Tuesday 24 May.

Appointed in 2018, Vice Minister Dang directs Vietnam’s energy strategy and oversees sectors including coal, oil, gas, electricity and renewables. A leading authority on the energy sector, the Vice Minister will update Asia House Corporate Members on Vietnam’s climate targets – including its ambition to achieve net zero emissions by 2050 and phase out coal power in the 2040s – and will outline the investment opportunities arising within Vietnam’s energy transition.

Visiting London as part of the JETCO delegation, Vice Minister Dang will also discuss Vietnam’s broader economic outlook amid a challenging global environment, with price rises driven by the pandemic, supply chain disruption and the Ukraine-Russia conflict presenting challenges to Vietnam’s manufacturing sector and, in turn, its net zero strategy.

This in-person event is being convened exclusively for Asia House Corporate Members. Find out more about the benefits of Corporate Membership at Asia House.
