Briefing: Digital and Social Media in Asia
During his visit to London for Asia’s Digital Transformation conference at Asia House, Parminder Singh, Managing Director, Twitter, South East Asia, MENA and India will give a private briefing exclusively for Asia House corporate members, followed by roundtable discussion under the Chatham House Rule.
Across Asia people are becoming interconnected more quickly and efficiently than anywhere else in the world. Between 2011 and 2012 the sales of smartphones in South East Asia grew by 78 per cent and 326 per cent in the Philippines. The smartphone industry in Southeast Asia is estimated to be worth $13bn.
Social media now also plays an important role across Asia in the political landscape as well, as demonstrated by its importance in the 2014 Indonesia and India elections.
This roundtable will be a unique opportunity to explore the impact of and get an insight into the world of social media in Asia. Increasingly companies are dedicating considerable resources to building and maintaining their online presence.
Parminder Singh has over 14 years of cross-functional experience in strategy and brand marketing within technology and telecommunications. He served as Business Head of Technology at Google India Private Limited and as Director of Online Media Sales for Asia Pacific at Google and Managing Director of Display Solution Sales at Google Inc. until November 2013. He also served as Country Head of Marketing for Apple and Head of Marketing for IBM’s Hardware division.
Asia House warmly invites you to this exclusive breakfast briefing with industry experts and organisations to have a free and frank discussion about the effect of social media.
