Exclusive Briefing: Bangladesh Foreign Minister
The Foreign Minister of Bangladesh, HE Mr Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali will give a private briefing exclusively for Asia House Corporate Members, followed by a roundtable discussion held under the Chatham House Rule.
Mr Ali spent 40 years as a career diplomat working in some of the highest profile embassies around the world. He served as First Secretary, Counsellor and Deputy High Commissioner to India (1977-79); Deputy Chief of Mission in Beijing (1983-1986); Ambassador to Germany (1992-1995); and as High Commissioner to the UK from 1996 to 2001.
Mr Ali entered Parliament in 2008 and became Minister for Disaster Management and Relief in September 2012. Following the installation of an all-party election time government he was appointed as Minister for Foreign Affairs in November 2013.
