In Conversation with Sri Mulyani

Her Excellency Dr Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Indonesia’s Minister of Finance, returns to Asia House on Tuesday, 7 May 2024 for a candid conversation with Asia House Chief Executive Michael Lawrence OBE on her experience and insights, and outlook on Indonesia’s economic future and policy evolution in the post-Jokowi era.

Minister Mulyani is highly regarded worldwide for her successful career in international and national financial institutions. Recognised for prudent fiscal management, Mulyani, former Managing Director and COO of the World Bank, played a crucial role in steering Indonesia through its economic recovery amidst the challenges of COVID-19, strengthening economic fundamentals, and implementing reforms in tax and corruption.

As highlighted in the Asia House Annual Outlook for 2024, Indonesia’s growth is expected to continue to surge, driven by AI and green finance innovations. Progress in accession to the OECD further enhances the country’s appeal for investment and trade.

The minister will also be taking questions from participants and sharing her forward-looking insights on Indonesia’s journey towards Vision 2045, navigating through the complexities of today’s geopolitical shifts and uncertainties. Asia House has also asked Mulyani to share her insights into Indonesia’s green finance adoption – which has accelerated under her tenure – along with its potential to foster sustainable growth for Indonesia.
