Indonesia: Pre-Election Briefing
Join us for an exclusive briefing for Asia House Corporate Members on Indonesia with Mark Canning CMG, British Ambassador to Indonesia, and Peter Radcliffe, President International of Monitise.
The guests will discuss the forthcoming Presidential Election in July 2014 and the impact of the outcome on the current geopolitical, economic and investment climate in Indonesia. The Indonesian economy has experienced an increasing shift towards protectionism in the past four years, and the panel will examine the possibility of changes to this policy based on the outcome of the elections.
Mark Canning CMG is a highly-experienced British diplomat, currently serving as the UK Ambassador to Indonesia, ASEAN, and Timor-Leste. Prior to this, he has acted as Ambassador to Zimbabwe and Burma (Myanmar). Mr Canning started work with the Foreign Office in the 1980s.
Peter Radcliffe has overall responsibility for Monitise’s activity within the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific regions. He is also a Board Director of Movida, Monitise’s joint venture with Visa Inc. in India. Peter has also been heavily involved in the Indonesian joint venture, AGIT Monitise. He has held senior executive positions in four FTSE 100 and Fortune 250 bank and IT companies. Peter’s entrepreneurial responsibilities have covered global and regional territories, with a period of two years in Hong Kong as MD First Data Asia Pacific.
