Jon Lambe, UK Ambassador-Designate to ASEAN

With the global economy going through a period of turbulence and transition, and Brexit prompting the UK to take stock of its place in the world, the recent opening of a dedicated UK mission to ASEAN is a clear indication of Britain’s developing diplomatic priorities. As ASEAN continues to boast strong growth figures and sees gains from the ongoing US-China trade tensions, the UK is viewing the region with increased importance and interest.

On 8 October, Jon Lambe, Ambassador-Designate to ASEAN, will brief Asia House Corporate Members on the UK’s plans to strengthen cooperation with ASEAN. Ambassador-Designate Lambe will outline what role this new mission will play in the UK’s strategy in the region, as well as the prospective opportunities and benefits that could arise for businesses.
