The Chief Executive of UK Trade and Investment Dr Catherine Raines will join Asia House corporate members for a private briefing to discuss UKTI’s global strategy with a direct focus on Asia.
Until recently she served as Minister and Director-General of UKTI China based in Beijing, leading the government’s effort to increase bilateral trade and FDI into the UK. Given her experience in a high growth market like China, she will discuss her vision for UKTI with a special focus on Asia.
Dr Catherine Raines joined UKTI after a career in the private sector and has FTSE 100 experience spanning more than 20 years.
Most recently, Dr Raines held the role of Vice President Corporate Development (China) for AstraZeneca based in Shanghai. In this role, she chaired the cross-functional group that oversaw the move of AstraZeneca’s global functions into China and led investment into Shanghai real estate of more than $200million.
