Private Briefing with FT Asia Editor
The first half of 2016 has witnessed the global economy come to terms with slower Chinese economic growth, a higher Indian GDP growth rate meaning that India has outpaced China to become the fastest-growing major economy in the world; as well as the official launch of a new multilateral institution– the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank – which is set to dramatically increase the levels of investment in sectors such as energy, transport, telecommunications and logistics across Asia.
Asia Editor of the Financial Times Jamil Anderlini will join Asia House corporate members for a private briefing to discuss political and economic trends in the region and his forecast for other developments.
Mr Anderlini has been Asia Editor based in Hong Kong since 2015 and oversees the FT’s coverage of the Asia region from Afghanistan to Australia, including China, India, Indonesia and Japan. Prior to this he was Beijing Bureau Chief when he became the first western journalist to secure an on-the-record interview with Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang. Prior to joining the FT, he was Beijing Business Correspondent for the South China Morning Post for two years. Before that, he was Chief Editor of the China Economic Review.
This event is open to Asia House corporate members only.
