Ralph Gonzalez Recto, the Philippines’ Secretary of Finance
Ralph Gonzalez Recto, the Philippines’ Secretary of Finance, will update Asia House Corporate Members on the Philippines’ economy at an off-the-record, in-person briefing on Wednesday 30 October.
Speaking at Asia House, Secretary Recto will provide insights into the Philippine economy, which the IMF predicts will experience slower growth in 2024 and 2025 as the country continues to grapple with high inflation. Secretary Recto will outline the government’s strategies to curb inflation, plans for a gradual reduction in monetary policy, and efforts to boost foreign direct investment (FDI) in public-private partnership (PPP) projects.
Secretary Recto will be joined by Francisco G. Dakila, Jr., Deputy Governor of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, along with other cabinet members, including Frederick D. Go, Secretary of the Office of the Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs (OSAPIEA). Together, they will provide updates on domestic developments in the Philippines and the country’s international relations, particularly with the US, Japan, and China.
This off-the-record session will be moderated by Asia House Chief Executive Michael Lawrence OBE and offers members a unique opportunity to hear directly from a senior member of Philippine President Marcos’ cabinet.
