Sarah Tiffin, UK Ambassador to ASEAN
Sarah Tiffin, UK Ambassador to ASEAN, will brief Asia House Corporate Members on the outlook of ASEAN-UK relations and deepening business and investment links in the region.
As the first country granted dialogue partner status by ASEAN in 25 years, Ambassador Tiffin will explore the UK’s push to strengthen its diplomatic and economic ties with the region post-Brexit. The Ambassador will share her views on ASEAN centrality in the UK’s tilt towards the Indo-Pacific, along with updates on the ASEAN-UK Dialogue Partnership Plan of Action (2022-2026).
Speaking ahead of the ASEAN Leaders’ Summit in September, Ambassador Tiffin will examine how the ASEAN-UK Dialogue Partnership will unlock economic opportunities emerging from the new corridor and cement the UK’s presence in the regional architecture. Closer cooperation between the UK and the bloc to drive trade and investment in a range of sectors, such as digital technology and energy transition, will also be discussed.
This off-the-record briefing is being convened exclusively for Asia House Corporate Members and will be moderated by Charlie Humphreys, Director of Corporate Affairs at Asia House. To register interest, please email Joanna Octavia, Head of Programming: joanna.octavia@asiahouse.co.uk
