The New Global Trade Order: Robert Koopman, World Trade Organization
The escalating US-China trade war and outstanding threat of US withdrawal from the World Trade Organization (WTO) continue to pose significant challenges and changes for global trade.
As part of our New Global Trade Order series, Robert Koopman, Chief Economist at the WTO, will brief Asia House corporate members on the challenges and opportunities of the emerging global trade order given recent developments.
Koopman discussed WTO reform and trade tensions on a panel titled ‘The Shifting Trade Landscape in Asia and Beyond’ at Asia House’s signature conference, Asia Trade in the New Global Order, in Singapore last November.
He has previously served as Director of Operations and Chief Operating Officer for the US International Trade Commission, where he oversaw the Commission’s trade policy research and negotiation assistance to the President, the US Trade Representative and Congress.
This briefing is held exclusively for Asia House Corporate Members. For more information, please contact aini.abdullah@asiahouse.co.uk
