Asia House Middle East Programme: UAE Minister for Energy and Industry
The United Arab Emirates Minister of Energy and Industry, His Excellency Eng. Suhail Mohamed Faraj Al Mazrouei, will brief Asia House Corporate Members on 27 February as part of the Asia House Middle East Programme.
Asia House Corporate Members will be briefed on the UAE Energy Strategy 2050 and the increasing number of opportunities in the UAE market, before participating in a roundtable discussion with the Minister.
The Energy Strategy 2050 focuses on increasing the contribution of clean energy in the total energy mix to 50 per cent by 2050, of which the contribution of renewable energy will be 44 per cent. This aims to reduce the carbon footprint of power generation by 70 per cent.
This dramatic increase in the renewable energy market provides exciting new opportunities, not only for energy companies but also those focusing on technology, engineering, transportation and construction.
This briefing will give Asia House Corporate Members a unique chance to speak directly with the Minister and senior advisors from the UAE Embassy about specific projects of interest, the UAE business environment, as well as the potential barriers to trade.
The briefing, which will be chaired by Asia House Chief Executive, Michael Lawrence, is held exclusively for Asia House Corporate Members and in partnership with the UAE Embassy to the UK. It is part of the Asia House Middle East Programme – a series of events and research activity aimed at driving economic engagement with the region.
