UK-China cooperation on the Belt & Road Initiative with Zhang Baowen
Zhang Baowen, Vice-chairperson of the 12th National People’s Congress (NPC) Standing Committee will join a roundtable discussion at Asia House on 12 April on UK-China Cooperation on China’s Belt & Road Initiative.
This event, in partnership with the 48 Group Club, will bring Zhang Baowen and a delegation from the Chinese Association for International Understanding (CAFIU) to discuss the UK’s involvement in the Chinese-led Belt & Road initiative.
Zhang Baowen is Chairman of the Central Committee of the China Democratic League, Vice-chairperson of the 12th National People’s Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, and Vice-President of CAFIU. He served as the Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture between 2000 and 2008. In 2012, he was elected the Chairman of the Central Committee of the China Democratic League, one of the eight non-communist political parties in China. He was elected Vice-chairperson of the 12th National People’s Congress (NPC) Standing Committee at the fourth plenary meeting of the first session of the 12th NPC in Beijing.
