Zheng Zeguang, Chinese Ambassador to the UK
Having taken up post in June of this year, H.E. Zheng Zeguang has been appointed Chinese Ambassador to the UK at a critical time. The bilateral relationship between China and the UK is going through a difficult period, with tensions escalating in recent years.
In contrast, economic ties between the two countries remain robust, with bilateral trade growing throughout the COVID-19 pandemic to a record total of £93 billion in the four quarters to the end of Q2 2021. Throughout the same period, China was also recorded as the UK’s second largest import market and third largest trading partner.
Asia House will welcome Ambassador Zheng Zeguang for a private digital briefing with Corporate Members on Wednesday 17 November.
