The 14th EU-India Summit will take place in New Delhi on 6 October 2017. The EU will be represented by Donald Tusk, President of the European Council, and by Jean Claude Juncker, President of the European Commission. Federica Mogherini, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, will also be present. India will be represented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The summit will mark the 55th anniversary since the establishment of EU-India diplomatic relations. Leaders are expected to call for enhanced cooperation within the G20 in order to achieve strong, sustainable and balanced growth. In addition, the EU and India will stress their commitment to the Paris Agreement.
EU is India’s largest regional trading partner. The EU is also the largest destination for Indian exports and a key source of the investment. India and EU have been strategic partners since 2004.
