US President Donald Trump will play host to Chinese Premier Xi Jinping in Florida in April, reports Reuters.
The meeting, announced by China’s foreign ministry today, will be the first for the two leaders of the world’s biggest economies.
While no official agenda was given, the meeting comes soon after U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson’s visit to Beijing, where trade and security issues were raised with reference to Taiwan and North Korea.
The prospect of a trade war between the US and China has been a recent fear of economic commentators, with many now hoping that the meeting will boost economic co-operation between the two giants, reports Bloomberg.
